At Night’s End
Written by Motti Lerner
Directed by Neil Blackadder
At Night’s End was produced while playwright Motti Lerner was in residence at Knox College as this year’s Visiting Israeli Scholar. Lerner is an award-winning playwright and screenwriter, whose work for the stage has been produced in many countries including the USA, Germany, and South Africa. Most of his plays and films deal with political issues, including this, his latest play, which is set in Haifa at the peak of the Second Lebanon War in 2006, and explores the impact of that conflict on one Israeli family. This was the third time Lerner has visited Knox; in addition to teaching a course and giving public lectures, he was directly involved with students in the rehearsal process and in post-show discussions following each performance.
