Meghan McGuire’s Not Like That explores what it’s like to be part of a collapsing friendship. Through snippets of memories taken from 13 years of their lives, Shelley and Marjorie tell a story about the little things that add up over time to make us who we are, and about how those little things can sometimes come between us and the people we love most. After moving to New York together looking for success, Shelley shocks marjorie by announcing that she is getting engaged and moving out of the city, and their friendship begins to crumble. While we follow the two of them on their journey from meeting in middle school to crying in a country club ballroom, Shelley and Marjorie are forced to face the fact that sometimes, no matter what is done after, nothing will ever really go back to the way it was before.
